Toronto to host its playoff home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum, Montréal at Place Bell
NEW YORK AND TORONTO (April 30, 2024) – The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has announced that the first four games of the 2024 PWHL Playoffs will be played daily from May 8-11, with two games of each league semifinal to be hosted by Toronto and Montréal. All Toronto home games throughout the PWHL Playoffs will be played at Coca-Cola Coliseum, and all Montréal home games will be played at Place Bell in Laval, QC.
Coca-Cola Coliseum, with a capacity of over 8,000 for hockey, is the home of the Toronto Marlies and will be the 15th different venue to host PWHL games this season. Montréal has played four games this season at Place Bell, home of the Laval Rocket, including two before sold-out crowds of 10,172.
The top four teams in the PWHL regular-season standings qualify for the playoffs that will consist of best-of-five semifinals and a best-of-five final for the Walter Cup. The higher seeds will have home-ice advantage for games one, two, and five in each series. Toronto and Montréal became the first two teams to officially clinch playoff spots and have secured home ice advantage throughout the opening round. The third and fourth playoff spots are still to be determined over the final week of the season between Minnesota, Ottawa, and Boston. Once the final standings are confirmed, the first-place team will have a 24-hour window to select its semifinal opponent – choosing between the third- or fourth-place teams.
Tickets will go on sale to the public for Toronto’s first two playoff games on Monday, May 6, at 4:00 p.m. ET available on Ticketmaster, and for Montreal’s first two playoff games on Tuesday, May 7, at 12:00 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster. Toronto and Montréal season ticket members will be contacted in advance of public sale to secure their seats and purchase additional tickets and packages.
