WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
In the three meetings between the teams this season, the Victoire have earned three wins with one in regulation, one in a shootout and one in overtime. Dating back to last season, three of the last four games in the matchup have headed to OT.
Toronto is on a six-game win streak (four regulation, two in OT) and has taken at least a point in nine straight games (5-2-2-0). The nine-game point streak is the second-longest point streak in league history, behind Toronto’s own 11-game run in 2024.
Jesse Compher scored her seventh goal of the season on Sunday, and all seven of those goals have come in different games – including all three games against Montréal. The only PWHL player who has scored in more different games this season is teammate Hannah Miller (eight).
Emma Maltais scored the first power-play goal of her career over the weekend, becoming the eighth Toronto skater with at least one PPG this season. The eight different skaters with a PPG are tied for the most in the league with Minnesota and are more than Toronto had all of last season (five).
The Sceptres had two players among the PWHL’s 3 Stars of the Week. Goaltender Kristen Campbell, the league’s Second Star, has won three straight games allowing just one goal in each start since the Jan. 30 shootout loss to Montréal. Miller, named Third Star, leads the league in points and is one behind the lead in both goals and assists.
Montréal has lost their last two games, which is a first this season. The team’s longest losing streak last season was four games (Mar. 8-24), with two of their four losses in that streak coming against Toronto.
The Victoire have scored one goal in its last two games combined, after scoring multiple goals in 13 consecutive games prior to that. It is the fewest goals in a two-game span in team history (regular season & playoffs).
Laura Stacey has led Montréal in shots on goal in consecutive games, shooting six times against Minnesota on Feb. 18, and three times against Ottawa this past Saturday while tallying the team’s only goal. She leads the Victoire with four points (2G, 2A) in three games against Toronto this season.
Anna Wilgren leads the PWHL in blocked shots this season with 39, three more than any other player. The rookie defender’s seven games with at least three blocks also lead the league (two of those games came against Toronto).
Seven of Montréal’s twelve wins have come when outshooting their opponent. They remain the only team in the league without a loss when leading the game in shots. Toronto leads the league with a plus-75 shot differential, with Montréal ranking third at minus-11. The Victoire (45) and Sceptres (41) have recorded the two highest shots on goal counts of the season, both in their season-opening games on Nov. 30.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
“We’re excited to be back in Montréal - they set the bar high pulling out front so quickly in the season. We are excited for the opportunity to compete against them again and to keep developing our game and our team identity.” – Sceptres forward Natalie Spooner.
“We plan on building off our strong third period from Saturday and bring that energy as soon as the puck drops on Tuesday night. Toronto is playing some inspired hockey as of late, and we will need to put our best game forward in order to put ourselves in the best position for success.” - Victoire Head Coach Kori Cheverie
TUESDAY’S GAME: Montréal will be celebrating Black History Month with a Unity Game tonight, welcoming local artist Kezna Dalz to perform the ceremonial puck drop. Dalz designed the PWHL’s Black History Month logo with a unique artistic style that captures the spirit of resilience, community, and joy that resonates throughout Black history and culture — on and off the ice. Members of Black Girl Hockey Club Canada and Pour 3 Points will be in attendance representing community organizations that are breaking down barriers and making a difference by empowering youth. DJ Blaze and guest DJ Nelles will be making sure that this Tuesday evening feels like a Friday night, while Jennifer Lee-Dupuy will sing the National anthem.
