WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
The Sceptres have won both of their games against the Fleet this season by multiple goals. Toronto only has one combined multi-goal victory against all other teams this season.
Toronto won its last game against Ottawa, 4-2, its first victory as the visiting team this campaign. The Sceptres scored four total goals over their first three road games this season.
Blayre Turnbull and Emma Maltais both recorded their second goal of the season against the Charge. The Sceptres have eight different players with multiple goals this season, second most in the PWHL behind the Frost (nine).
Hannah Miller is the only PWHL player this season with at least four goals and a positive-six plus-minus. She was one of 12 PWHL players to finish last season reaching those marks.
Kali Flanagan, a native of Burlington, MA, has scored two of her four career goals against Boston. The Sceptres defender scored her first of the season in their last meeting on Dec. 27 and the first of her career in the team’s first-ever visit to the Tsongas Center last Feb. 14 - the game-winner in a 5-3 victory.
Beginning this game, Toronto’s Savannah Harmon will be wearing No. 15 and Anneke Rankila will now wear No. 25.
Toronto rookie Megan Carter (LTIR) won three Beanpot titles as a defender for Northeastern (2020/23/24).
All 10 goals scored in this matchup so far this season have been recorded by different players (TOR-7, BOS-3).
Boston returns to the Tsongas Center for the first time since Dec. 17. They have won two-straight games in their primary home venue this season.
The Fleet won their last game against the Charge, 2-1 in overtime, and have had their last four games decided by a one-goal margin. That is Boston’s longest streak since finishing last season with eight consecutive one-goal games.
Sidney Morin scored both of Boston’s goals against Ottawa, which were her first two goals of the season. Morin is one of two PWHL defenders to have a multi-goal game this season, along with teammate Megan Keller (Dec. 8).
Jill Saulnier (No. 44) makes her Fleet debut after being acquired from New York in a trade for Taylor Girard on Tuesday. Saulnier has two points in 23 career games with her lone goal scored against Toronto in last season’s opener.
Beanpot alumnae Aerin Frankel and Alina Müller (Northeastern), Keller and Hannah Bilka (Boston College) and Jillian Dempsey (Harvard) performed the ceremonial puck drop ahead of the Women’s Beanpot Championship at TD Garden. Müller was a member of the 2023 Huskies that began the streak of three-straight Beanpot titles that extended with last night’s 4-0 win over Boston University.
Hilary Knight and Hannah Brandt participated in the first of eight ‘Fleet Pro Series’ youth hockey practices Monday night with Wellesley Youth Hockey.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
“We’re expecting a good game from them, obviously with every team in the league it’s a battle all night. We’re just going to try to build off of our last game and go from there.” - Sceptres defender Allie Munroe.
"Over our recent road trip, we saw a lot of growth from our group, both on and off the ice. Whether it was battling back from being behind or just having additional time to bond throughout the travel, we’ve built a lot of momentum heading into tonight that we’re excited to keep building on." - Fleet Head Coach Courtney Kessel.
WEDNESDAY’S GAME: After 36 days away from home, the Fleet return to the Tsongas Center for Community Heroes Night, their second Unity Game of the season. In partnership with Merrimack Valley Food Bank, the Fleet are hosting a food drive together with their fans to provide resources to those in need in and around the Lowell community. The National Anthems will be sung by Lowell Public School Choir Director Evan Caverly with the flags being presented by the Revere Police Department. Additionally, representatives from the Army National Guard, Massachusetts Women Veterans Network, Boston Warrior Hockey, Hidden Battles Foundation and Lowell Vet Center will be showcased throughout the concourse.
