New Partnership Supports Growth of Women's Hockey and Healthy Lifestyles, Engaging the Community Across Ontario

TORONTO - Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) announced today it has become the Official Dairy Partner of the PWHL’s Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres. This alliance aims to promote the growth of women’s hockey in Ontario while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles across the province.

The partnership will feature grassroots initiatives to help create more opportunities for women and girls in sports, promote nutrition and encourage healthy lifestyles. Through community events and in-game promotions at the Charge and Sceptres’ home venues, DFO will directly engage with fans and raise awareness on the importance of nutrition and the transformative power of sport.

“Just as milk nourishes healthy bodies, Ontario’s dairy farming families proudly nourish healthy communities, which will be the focus of our PWHL partnership. This exciting opportunity will also allow us to reinforce the immense benefits of milk to these top-level and professional athletes,” said Cheryl Smith, DFO’s Chief Executive Officer. “Partnering with the Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres not only reflects our dedication to fostering the growth of women’s hockey, but also our shared commitment to encourage healthy, active lifestyles and stronger connections within our communities.”

“DFO has a long-standing presence in Ontario communities, and we are proud to have their partnership in the PWHL,” said Chelsea Purcell, PWHL Senior Director of Partnerships. “This collaboration will not only help elevate women’s hockey but also inspire the next generation of athletes to dream big and prioritize their wellness.”

DFO wants to be at the forefront of unlocking the league’s full potential to create new opportunities and representation for women and girls in sports and is thrilled to support the growth of women's professional hockey in Canada. DFO’s collaboration with the PWHL is a testament to the organization’s commitment to breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of girls and women in sports and beyond.
