This Women's Empowerment Month, we are celebrating the women shaping the future both on and off the ice as part of our Unity Games series. This series is dedicated to bringing together players, fans and communities. Join us in our efforts to to inspire future generations of women to continue breaking barriers and achieving success.

The unique artwork and logo design is created by Fiorella Granda, a Toronto-based designer and illustrator. The design represents a powerful story of celebration, community, and inclusivity. It is a tribute to the resilience, strength, and unity of women in sports, symbolizing the ongoing fight for equality and visibility in sports.

In-Game Activations:

  • Special Guests: Players will be joined by inspirational women for their walk-ins, including members of Canada’s Women’s Para Hockey Team and/or their mothers or mother figures. This moment highlights the profound impact of support systems, celebrating the generations of women—family, mentors, and trailblazers—who have shaped their journeys on and off the ice.
  • AFC Toronto Spotlight & T-Shirt Toss: In celebration of the NSL/AFC Toronto, players from the club will be in attendance and participate in an in-game T-shirt toss to promote their upcoming home opener at BMO Field next month.
  • Rosie the Hockey Player Book: Author Jenna M. Prestidge's new book "The History of Women's Hockey" featuring the PWHL, will be available for for purchase in venue. Jenna will also be featured in the pre-game host opener, sharing insights about the book and its impact.
  • Canada’s Para Hockey Kiosk: A dedicated booth will provide information and resources on Canada’s Women's para hockey, promoting accessibility and inclusion within the sport as well as their “We are here for the women’s game” T-shirts available via QR Code.

Rosie the Hockey Player

  • The PWHL and the PWHLPA are partnering with author Jenna M. Prestidge on the launch of her seventh book in the bestselling series “Rosie the Hockey Player: The History of Women’s Hockey”, which celebrates the achievements of the many women who have helped grow the game of hockey. The book will be released on March 8, International Women’s Day, and available for purchase only on the PWHL Shop through the end of March. A donation will be made to benefit Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and Women's Sports Foundation.
